According to CDC, one in every six adults in America has high blood cholesterol. 20% of youth aged 12-19 years have at least one abnormal lipid level. Anyone, regardless of age, can develop high cholesterol. High cholesterol increases the risk of heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure.
Take a look at this screenshot taken from CDC’s website on cholesterol and arteries:
Too much cholesterol occurs because of the food we eat and the rate at which our body breaks down cholesterol. Just as there are foods that lead us to the path of high cholesterol, there is food and nutrition that help us lower cholesterol.
Here are 5 foods and nutrition to fight high cholesterol:
One: Oats
The soluble fiber found in oats is important for lowering cholesterol. Old-fashioned, steel cut or stone-ground oats are rich in fiber, protein and other nutrients. It is an easy and cheap way to getting started for fighting high cholesterol. Imagine adding fruits like strawberries, blueberries and bananas or add nuts to your daily intake of oatmeal in the morning. You will increase your fiber intake, which can bind the cholesterol and help release it as waste in our digestive system.
Two: Beans and lentils
Another food group with rich soluble fiber are beans and lentils. A diet rich in beans and lentils instead of fatty red meat will help lower cholesterol. Beans like black beans, pinto, garbanzo, kidney or red beans and various green and yellow lentils are good sources of protein too.
Three: Young Living’s ImmuPro
ImmuPro provides the benefits of NingXia Red in the convenience of a delicious fruit-flavored chewable supplement. It helps maintain cholesterol levels that are already within the normal range.
Four: Lemongrass oil and NingXia Red
Add 10 drops of Lemongrass oil to a capsule and take it every morning with NingXia Red superfruit drink. Here is a testimonial from Dixie S. about how her husband lowered his cholesterol with Lemongrass oil and NingXia Red:
My husband, Bob, has always had high cholesterol results in his company physicals, usually near 275. It has been recommended to him that he should take allopathic medication for his cholesterol.
For one month, he drank one ounce of NingXia Red and took one capsule of ten drops of YLEO lemongrass every morning. After 30 days, his live blood analysis contained far less 'bad' cholesterol. Six months later, his cholesterol was near 200 during his regular company physical.
More testimonials about NingXia Red and lowering cholesterol from Norman N:
My 61-year-old father was hospitalized for a TIA (mini-stroke) last December. While in the hospital he got the results from the Lipid Panel and it revealed a Triglyceride level of 422 (normal <150 mg/dl) and total Cholesterol of 239 (normal <200 mg/dl). He refused certain medications to help him and started taking Ningxia Red. One ounce a day for 3 months. His blood work was repeated then and showed Triglyceride level of 238 mg/dl (almost cut in half) and Total Cholesterol of 228 mg/dl. Today is Triglycerides are 130 mg/dl and Total Cholesterol is 178 mg/dl. He changed his diet and exercises more and never goes a day without his Ningxia Red.
Five: Clove oil
Clove has been used to enhance the flavor of foods and is known to have immune-enhancing properties. It is also known to lower cholesterol when ingested. Here is a testimonial from Carol S about ingesting Clove oil:
I had heard that using 4 drops of Clove and 4 drops of Lemongrass in a capsule taken internally, twice a day would help to lower cholesterol.
I did that for exactly 30 days and then had my blood levels checked. The LDL reading went from 180 to 166!
I'm going to now up my dosages to 6 drops of each of the above oils twice a day. Thank you YLEO and Gary Young!
